On December 8, participants in the State Research Programme project “Navigating the Latvian History of the 20th-21st Century: Social Morphogenesis, Legacy and Challenges” (project no. VPP-IZM-Vēsture-2023/1-0003), took part in the international scientific conference “Poland and Latvia in the 20th and 21st Centuries: Parallel Paths, Different Experiences,” organized by the University of Lublin and the University of Latvia.

During the conference, Dr. hist. Ēriks Jēkabsons discussed the main shared moments in the history of Poland and Latvia, PhD cand. Andis Kudors provided insights into the nuances of relations between Latvia and the Russian Federation, emphasizing issues related to security threats. The presentation by Mg. hist. Valdis Kuzmins focused on the specifics of the Soviet Army in Latvia, while PhD Andrejs Gusačenko introduced the main challenges of Latvian-Soviet diplomacy during the interwar period. As an honorary guest, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Poland, Raimonds Jansons, delivered an extensive lecture at the conference
