On November 24, the Institute of Latvian History of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia was visited by Professor Ziyabek Kabuldinov, Director General and Dinara Sandibaeva, Research fellow of the Ch. Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the visit, Uldis Neiburgs, Director of the Institute of Latvian History, Toms Ķencis, Vice-Dean of Sciences of the Faculty of Humanities, and other scientists of the institute got acquainted with the work of the Kazakhstan's Institute of History and Ethnology and collections of historical sources in the archives of Kazakhstan, as well as discussed the possibilities and prospects of further research cooperation. During the visit, an agreement was reached on a memorandum of cooperation between the University of Latvia and the Ch. Ch. Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was signed on November 28 by Professor Z. Kabuldinov and Guntars Kitenbergs, Vice-Rector for Sciences of the University of Latvia.
